Designed to ensure maximum maneuverability and control, the Ferrari California launched in 2008 to much fanfare. Industry rumors contend that this car began as a Maserati and upgraded to a Ferrari to offset its high-cost of development. In this car, consumers find a number of Ferrari firsts: the first with a front-engine V8, the first with a folding metal roof, the first with direct petrol injection, and the first with a seven-speed dual clutch. Over 1000 hours in the wind tunnel allowed this car to push itself, its aerodynamics, and its speed from zero to sixty in under four seconds.
In 2014, the Ferrari California found itself replaced with the Ferrari California 'T'. Fans of the old Pininfarina-designed powerhouse can still find this plastic replica on Model Kit Central! To begin with, this 1/24 scale car kit features true-to-original chassis sculpting and intricate details in its interior, suspension, wheel, and brake assembly. Under its hood, this car showcases a posable front axle and a life-like miniature of the 4.3 liter V8 engine. Lastly, in terms of paper weight, this car kit includes authentic factory decals and multi-page instructions.
