The F4U-1A Corsair turned the tide of Pacific warfare in the initial stages World War Two. High-speed capability, 12.7 mm machine guns, the largest propeller on any fighter plane to date, and its signature gull-shaped wings led this plane to victory in battle after battle. While it eventually allocated its place in to newer fighters, the Corsair remains an important piece of military history.
